Making requests
Use Can/Could + I + infinitve to make requests.
Note: could is often more formal than can. When speaking, reply: Yes, of course /Here you are.
Examples:
- Can I have a sandwich, please?
- Can I have one of those batteries, please?
- Could I send a package, please?
- Could I change these dollars for yen, please?
